We host workshops and conversations around mental health and improvement in our community from 3:00PM to 5:00PM PST on the 2nd Sunday of every month, both online (TikTok) and in-person (Meeting Room, Woodmont Library 26809 Pacific Hwy S, Des Moines, WA 98198).
This was a great event!!! The dialog around mental health was engaging and important. I am glad I was able to attend and listen with others about the importance of therapy and deconstructing bad internal messages.
This was a phenomenal conversation and book release. The intentionality and care that the author put into the text will be impactful to many folks and their families.

What a wonderful event and opportunity to meet a man who is on a journey to loving himself. This event was filled with love, appreciation and support of therapy. I pray Onyi continues to share his story because men all over the world need to know they are not alone.
Blessings 😊

This event was both inspiring and refreshing to me mentally and emotional. As an avid mental health advocate and person who lives with a mental health disorder, it was beautiful to hear his story and his journey toward finding a safe therapist who he could be honest with and who he holds in high esteem. His resilience, self-aware, and vulnerability are incredible, and I look forward to reading more of his work in the future.
During the event, Chika Onyejika asked: “How will you reach out to the men (especially African, and Nigerian men, or men in general) who are dying in silence given the culture?”
With the feedback I have been receiving from some of the women who attended the event and gave a copy of the book to the men in their circle, it is evident that getting over a copy of the book to that man in your circle might just be the beginning of the breakthrough that he needs.
You have in few words summarize the truma many African Americans go through in few words. I was so blessed to be a participant. God bless you and your future generations

This was such an inspiring event! Dika shared his personal story with vulnerability and authenticity, creating a deep connection with the audience. His insights into mental health challenges and the importance of therapy were both enlightening and relatable. The book itself is a valuable resource, combining personal anecdotes with practical tips that can help others on their mental health journeys.
